The Professional Masonry Association (PMA) was founded and chartered in 1991 to bring masonry contractors and suppliers together to promote the use of masonry units (brick and block) in construction within the Frederick County industry and beyond.

There are four main goals of this organization:

• Promoting professional standards
• Educating our members
• Educating the consumer
• Educating future masons (vo-tech and adult education)
